British pop star and model Dua Lipa has become the latest international celebrity to support Ukrainian fashion industry.

The singer, famous for songs like “New Rules,” uploaded two pictures to her Instagram and Twitter accounts on April 29 of her wearing an outfit designed by Ukrainian Ksenia Schnaider.

The outfit is a striking combination of mixed blue denim, comprised of a long blazer style jacket and jeans, accompanied by a white vest top and white sunglasses.

Dua Lipa was in Baku to perform at the closing of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix when she was photographed wearing Schnaider’s clothing.

Schnaider is one of Ukraine’s foremost fashion designers, famous for her bold work and unconventional designs which often feature denim.

Schnaider founded her label in 2011 together with her husband Anton. The duo’s brand has grown since then and is now sold in over 70 stores worldwide, including flagship locations like British Selfridges.

The Ukrainian fashion industry is continuing to enjoy popularity worldwide especially among high profile celebrities. Earlier this year, the daughter of pop superstar Beyoncé was photographed wearing an all-white custom tuxedo designed by Valery Kovalska, a Ukrainian fashion icon.

While Ukraine’s fashion designers enjoy the spotlight, the country’s models remain prominent in international fashion.

Pasha Harulia, 18, was recently made the face of Italian fashion giant Prada’s “Real Life Comix” spring/summer campaign. With her tomboyish and striking looks, industry insiders predict Harulia has a promising career ahead of her.

Aside from her latest Instagram post, Dua Lipa might have one more connection to Ukraine. The British singer, who is of Albanian Kosovar descent, is rumoured to perform at the opening of the upcoming UEFA Champions League final in Kyiv on May 26 between Spanish Real Madrid and English Liverpool.

UEFA posted a short teaser trailer for the match on Twitter on May 3 that features Dua Lipa’s music.

“We have another amazing artist taking the ultimate stage at this year’s #UCL final Opening Ceremony,” the post reads. “Any guesses who?”
