Ukrainian director Tanu Muiño has hit the mark yet again, to no one’s surprise at this point.
It has been an incredibly successful year for the director, shooting music videos for world superstars like Cardi B, Lil Nas X and Normani.
Now Muiño adds Lizzo to her list of star clientele with the release of the U.S. singer’s new music video, “Rumours,” featuring rapper Cardi B.
The video hit over 1.2 million views within the first 7 hours since its premiere on Aug. 13.
The two singers wear gold chains, greek inspired outfits and spectacular gold studded nails, as they dance on pedestals and sing from the heavens.
This is the first track that Lizzo and Cardi B have worked on together. The video features the two women as goddesses criticizing rumors and fake news about themselves, as well as raising the topics of body positivity and racism. It’s also the first video to feature Cardi B’s second pregnancy since her announcement in June.
Muiño’s music videos have received international recognition. Her directorial style and vision have clearly been Cardi B’s favorite as this is the third time they worked together this year.
Her previous music video,“Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” by U.S. rapper Lil Nas X, has been nominated for five different MTV Video Music Awards, including Video of the Year and Best Direction.
“OMG! Dream come true!!!” Muiño wrote on Instagram following the announcement of nominations.
