Ukrainian police push a member of Ukrainian National Self-Defense (UNSO), a Ukrainian ultra-nationalist organization, into a van after arresting UNSO demonstrators in front of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry headquarters on Jan. 12, 1996. The demonstrators sought the resignation of Defense Minister Valery Shmarov, who they accused of destroying of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and eliminating the country’s nuclear stockpile.
