Cherkasy, the capital city of Cherkasy Oblast in central Ukraine, is in the spotlight after President Volodymyr Zelensky criticized the mayor in a recent speech. The city became the first one in Ukraine to loosen quarantine measures intended to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
But while Cherkasy’s mayor is under fire from the president and the Interior Ministry, Cherkasy’s entrepreneurs are caught in a crossfire.
