A tech startup co-founded by Ukrainian Dmitriy Zaporozhets has raised $20 million in a Series C investment round led by GV – formerly Google Ventures.
The startup is called GitLab – a collaboration and DevOps (development and operations) platform for tech developers.
GitLab is currently used by more than 100,000 organizations, including Ticketmaster, ING, NASDAQ, Sony and Intel.
The $20-million investment brings GitLab’s total funding to date to just over $45.5 million. GitLab will use the money to add “new functionality for packaging, releasing, configuring and monitoring software.”
“GitLab’s platform accelerates the development process, with an emphasis on collaboration and automation,” GV General Partner Dave Munichiello said in a statement. “GitLab’s hybrid, multi-cloud solution is loved by developers, and is seeing tremendous traction in the field.”
In addition to the new funding, the company also said that WordPress founder Matt Mullenweg was joining the company’s board of directors.
In January, U.S. business magazine Forbes placed the Kharkiv-born Zaporozhets on its list of the 30 most successful people in the world under 30-years-of-age in the Enterprise Technology sector.
Zaporozhets and Dutch citizen Sytse Sijbrandij cofounded GitLab back in 2011. It started out as a git-based open source tool for self-hosting code repositories.
