Ukraine has identified 1,158 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours as of 9 a.m. on Aug. 11. There are currently 36,230 active cases across the country.
In the past 24 hours, Ukraine has recorded 29 deaths from COVID-19, 266 patients have been hospitalized and 575 people have recovered.
“The number of people seeking hospitalization is rising from day to day,” Health Minister Maksym Stepanov said at his morning briefing on Aug. 11.
As of 9 a.m., 5,549 people with COVID-19 are in hospitals. A month ago, this number stood at 3,912, Stepanov said.
The largest numbers of new cases were registered in Lviv Oblast (161), Odesa Oblast (134), Kharkiv Oblast (129) and the city of Kyiv (124). Of all new COVID-19 cases, 66 were diagnosed among children and 75 among medical workers.

The total number of infections identified in the country since the start of the pandemic stands at 83,115. A total of 44,934 people have recovered and 1,951 have died of the disease.
In total, 16,127 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests were administered across the country during the past 24 hours, Stepanov said during a briefing on Aug. 11. Additionally, Ukrainian laboratories carried out 16,275 antibody tests (ELISA).

Since Aug. 3, new rules for COVID-19 quarantine have come into force in Ukraine: Communities, rather than entire regions, are now divided into green, yellow, orange and red levels of severity of COVID-19 spread. The authorities in districts, cities and towns will have to tighten or relax quarantine restrictions in accordance with these categorizations. The levels are based on four indicators that will be reviewed every five days
