Ukraine has recorded 731 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours as of 9 a.m. on July 19.

At the moment, there are 26,478 active cases in the country. The total number of infections identified in Ukraine since the start of the pandemic stands at 58,842; a total of 30,879 citizens have recovered and 1,485 have died of the disease.

Of all cases registered in Ukraine, 41 are children and 72 are medical workers.

In the past 24 hours, Ukraine recorded 21 new deaths from COVID-19, 145 patients have been hospitalized and 354 have recovered. The highest numbers of new cases were registered in Lviv Oblast (109), Kyiv (87), and Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast (79).

A total of 11,023 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests were administered across the country during the past 24 hours. In addition, Ukrainian laboratories carried out 6,722 antibody tests (ELISA), Health Minister Maksym Stepanov said at his morning briefing on July 19.

Because the number of cases in the country is still high, Ukraine cannot lift all quarantine restrictions on July 31, as was previously planned. In an interview with the RBK-Ukraine news outlet on July 15, Stepanov said Ukraine will extend the COVID-19 quarantine until at least September.

Globally, the number of COVID-19 cases has reached over 14 million as of July 17; over 604,984 people have died and 8.6 million patients have recovered.

The United States, Brazil, India, and Russia have the highest numbers of cases.
