Ukraine has recorded 819 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours as of 9 a.m. on July 10. At the moment, there are 25,898 active cases in the country and 3,893 people are receiving treatment in hospitals, including 101 patients on lung ventilators.
In the past 24 hours, 18 patients have died, 214 have been hospitalized and 1,016 have recovered— the highest number of recoveries recorded in one day since the beginning of the outbreak in Ukraine, Health Minister Maksym Stepanov said at his morning briefing on July 10.
The total number of coronavirus cases registered in Ukraine now stands at 52,043, while a total of 24,800 patients have recovered and 1,345 have died of the disease since the beginning of the pandemic.
Among all cases registered in Ukraine, 3,749 are children and 7,213 are medical workers.
In the past 24 hours, the largest numbers of new cases were registered in the city of Kyiv (118), Zakarpattia Oblast (112), Lviv Oblast (82), and Rivne Oblast (74).
Chernivtsi Oblast still leads the tally with the most active cases per 100,000 people (257.4), followed by Lviv Oblast (222.3) and Zakarpattia Oblast (193.3), according to the Center for Public Health.
Ternopil oblast has shown the most significant growth in infection rate over the past seven days compared to other regions, 47%. Donetsk and Chernihiv Oblasts have the lowest levels of testing in the country.
In the past 24 hours, Ukrainian laboratories carried out 13,134 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests and 14,147 antibody tests (ELISA).
