The number of officially confirmed COVID-19 cases in Ukraine has reached 38,074 as of 9 a.m. on June 23, Health Minister Maksym Stepanov said at a morning press briefing.
Ukraine has identified 833 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, an increase from the 681 new cases recorded the previous day.
Over the past 24 hours, 23 people have died of the coronavirus, bringing the total death toll from COVID-19 in the country up to 1,035.
Additionally, 314 patients have recovered, bringing country’s total number of recoveries to 16,956. Over the past 24 hours, 153 people have been hospitalized.

Among the new COVID-19 cases, 55 are children and 92 are medical workers. A total of 2,790 children and 6,138 medical workers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in Ukraine.
The regions with the highest number of newly registered cases are Lviv Oblast (240), Zakarpattia Oblast (103) and Rivne Oblast (75).
During his morning briefing on June 22, Stepanov said that Ukraine had performed 19,404 COVID-19 tests in the past 24 hours. That includes 9,900 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests and 9,504 antibody tests (IFA).
