The number of officially confirmed COVID-19 cases in Ukraine has reached 42,065 as of 9 a.m. on June 27, Health Minister Maksym Stepanov said at a morning press briefing.

Ukraine has identified 948 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, a decrease from the 1,109 new cases recorded the previous day. June 26 is the fourth day in a row that the country has seen a record number of new cases, with 994 new infections on June 25 and 940 on June 24.

Over the past 24 hours, 24 people have died of the coronavirus, bringing the total death toll from COVID-19 in the country up to 1,110.

Additionally, 402 patients have recovered, bringing the country’s total number of recoveries to 18,701.

Over the past 24 hours, 228 people have been hospitalized.

Among the new COVID-19 cases, 15 are children and 95 are medical workers. A total of 3,086 children and 6,515 medical workers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in Ukraine.

The regions with the highest number of newly registered cases are Lviv Oblast (168), Rivne Oblast (111) and Zakarpattia Oblast (93) and the city of Kyiv (140).

During his morning briefing on June 27, Stepanov said that Ukraine had performed 24,569 COVID-19 tests in the past 24 hours. That includes 12,177 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests and 12,392 antibody tests (IFA).
