This story has been updated to include information about foreigners who enter Ukraine for 48 hours.

From Sept.20 foreigners won’t have to self-isolate or take a PCR test if they enter Ukraine for 48 hours.

As of Aug. 18, foreigners don’t have to self-isolate or take a PCR test if they enter Ukraine after receiving only the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, the Cabinet of Ministers decided.

Previously, both doses were required to skip isolation or PCR tests upon arrival.

Travelers who have a certificate of recovery from COVID-19 also don’t have to self-isolate. They are however required to have insurance to cover the cost of possible coronavirus treatment.

Ukraine currently recognizes Pfizer, CoronaVac, Johnson & Johnson and AstraZeneca vaccines.

On Aug. 5, the Cabinet introduced an obligatory COVID-19 test for Ukrainians and foreigners when entering the country to minimize the risk of spreading the virulent Delta variant of the virus.

Ukrainians and foreigners who want to be vaccinated in-country can go to one of 197 mass vaccination centers throughout Ukraine.

The capital has one such center at the Kyiv International Exhibition Center near the Livoberezhna metro station. Another one is located inside the Kyiv Boryspil International Airport.

The fifth and final stage of COVID-19 vaccination began in Ukraine on July 21, meaning anyone can get a jab.

According to the Ministry of Health, as of Aug.18, nearly 4 million people have received their first dose and 2.8 million people are fully vaccinated.
