- New flight destinations for Ukrainians. Ryanair, the Irish low-cost airline, opened six new destinations on Oct. 28. Starting at 1:35 p.m. Kyiv time, Ryanair began regular flights from Kyiv to Vilnius. The same day, Ryanair opened direct flights to Warsaw, Bydgoszcz (Poland), Barcelona, Bratislava, and London.
- Ukraine’s Invictus Games team comes home. The Ukrainian has returned from its third Invictus Games with 20 medals, becoming the fifth by medal count among 18 participating countries.
- Ukrainian border guards detained a British national who had been wanted by Interpol. The man, whose name wasn’t revealed, was detained in Boryspil Airport. He is wanted for financial fraud by the United Arab Emirates.
- No Ukrainians were aboard the Indonesian Lion Air flight that crashed in the sea off Jakarta on Oct. 28, killing all 189 people on board.
- The Kyiv Lions Club to host a fundraiser for kids with cancer. The club is hosting a fundraiser at the Buddha Bar, 24 Khreshchatyk St. in Kyiv at 7 p.m. on Nov. 1 to raise money for medicine to supply the children’s oncology department at Kyiv Regional Hospital at 1 Boggovutiskvska St.
- The Bogdan Hawrylyshyn Family Foundation will hold its first charity gala on Nov. 14. The event will take place at the ArtHall D12, 12 Desyatynna St., in Kyiv. The charitable donation for participation in the gala dinner is Hr 5,000. The foundation was created by the family of late Bogdan Hawrylyshyn, a renowned Canadian-Ukrainian economist and scholar.
- Ukrainian sailor was released from the captivity of Nigerian pirates and is coming home.
